Commercial Garage Doors in Victoria

Clopay commercial doors supplied, installed and serviced from Victoria up to Nanaimo. Free estimates.

From auto shops, RV buildings and warehouses to retail stores and government buildings, Tedford supplies, installs and services commercial overhead doors from Greater Victoria up the Island to Nanaimo. As a Clopay Master Authorized Dealer we offer Clopay's full commercial line, from insulated and ribbed steel sectional doors to aluminum full-view and roll-up sheet doors, along with specialty products from other quality manufacturers.

Every building is different, so every job starts with a site visit. We look at how the door is used, how often it cycles, whether the space is heated and how much headroom there is, then set out the options in an upfront quote. Glass, insulation, steel-backed panels for extra strength and opener options can all be added. Contractors and new construction are welcome, and our technicians repair and service existing doors and openers of all makes and models.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Site visit

We come to the building, measure each opening, check headroom and side room, and ask how the door is used: how often it cycles, whether the space is heated and what traffic goes through it.

  2. Step 2: Upfront quote

You get a free, upfront quote with no hidden costs that spells out the door model, insulation, glazing, springs, hardware and operator, so you or your contractor can compare it line by line.

  3. Step 3: Install or service

Our crew installs the door, balances the springs and tests the operator and safety devices before handing it over. For repairs, the technician assesses the door first and gives you options before any work starts.

What kinds of commercial doors does Tedford install between Victoria and Nanaimo?

Tedford supplies and installs Clopay's full line of commercial overhead doors, including insulated and non-insulated steel sectional doors, aluminum full-view doors, roll-up sheet doors and custom-engineered doors.

As a Clopay Master Authorized Dealer, Tedford works on auto shops, RV buildings, warehouses, retail stores and government buildings, with light- and heavy-duty doors to suit each one. Options such as glass, insulation and steel-backed panels for extra strength can be added, and specialty products like rolling fire doors, MobilFlex grilles and counter shutters come from other quality manufacturers. Tedford takes commercial work from Greater Victoria up to Nanaimo.

What does a commercial overhead door cost?

The cost of a commercial overhead door depends on the opening size, door type, steel gauge, insulation, glazing, hardware and operator, so Tedford prices each project after a free site visit.

Tedford doesn't publish price ranges, because a non-insulated ribbed steel door for a storage bay and a large insulated door with full-view sections and high-cycle springs are very different jobs. The written quote lists the door model, options, hardware and installation with no hidden costs, so you or your contractor can compare it line by line. Call (778) 401-5134 or book online to arrange the estimate.

Does Tedford repair commercial doors and openers?

Yes, Tedford's technicians repair and service commercial doors and openers, and can work on all makes and models.

As an authorized dealer of Clopay doors and LiftMaster openers, Tedford also performs warranty service and preventative maintenance on both. A technician assesses the door system first, then gives you options and a free, upfront quote before any work is done. The office is open Monday – Friday, 7:15 am – 4:45 pm, and if a door won't close or lock and leaves your building exposed, call (778) 401-5134: phones are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and technicians are on call for emergency repairs after hours.

Should our building have an insulated or non-insulated commercial door?

Choose an insulated door for heated or climate-controlled spaces such as shops, showrooms, fire halls and municipal buildings, and a non-insulated ribbed steel door for unheated storage, loading docks and agricultural buildings.

Clopay's Industrial Series ribbed steel doors come non-insulated or with polystyrene insulation and a vinyl or steel back cover. The Energy Series uses polystyrene insulation, with section R-values up to 9.1, while the Energy Series with Intellicore uses injected polyurethane that expands to fill the door, for a stiffer section and R-values up to 27.2. R-values are calculated for a single section, so header, jamb and bottom seals matter too. Tedford can price more than one option so you can weigh heating costs against the upfront price.

Can we get a glass or full-view door for a showroom, restaurant or fire hall?

Yes, Clopay's Architectural Series aluminum full-view doors are built for buildings that want visibility, natural light and a modern look, from restaurants and car dealerships to fire stations.

The aluminum frame can be glazed with clear, tinted, frosted or obscure glass, acrylic or polycarbonate, and insulated glass with a Low-E option is available; solid aluminum panels suit openings where privacy matters. Finishes include clear and coloured anodizing, painted colours and, on select models, custom powder coat. Tedford goes through the glazing, finish and hardware options at the site visit and lists them on the quote.

Our door cycles all day. How do we make it last?

Specify high-cycle torsion springs and heavy-duty hardware, because standard commercial springs wear out quickly on a door that opens many times a day.

Clopay commercial doors can take high-cycle spring upgrades, and the high-performance hardware package adds 10-gauge end hinges, a heavy-duty top bracket and 3-inch sealed rollers, with 3-inch heavy-duty track where it isn't already standard. Match the operator to the duty, too: LiftMaster commercial operators come in light, medium and industrial duty. Tell Tedford roughly how many times a day the door opens so the quote reflects it.

What door suits a self-storage or mini-warehouse facility?

Roll-up sheet doors are designed for self-storage and mini warehouses: they coil above the opening, take up little room and add security.

Clopay's roll-up sheet doors are made from 26-gauge steel sheets, roll-formed with grooves and hemmed together into a continuous curtain that runs in vertical guides and coils around a spring-loaded shaft above the header. They come in light-, medium- and heavy-duty versions, with a high-performance hardware upgrade available. Tell Tedford the number and sizes of the units when you call so the site visit covers them all.

Do you supply rolling fire doors, grilles and counter shutters?

Yes, Tedford handles a range of specialty products from quality manufacturers alongside its Clopay doors.

These include rolling steel fire doors, MobilFlex sliding and rolling grilles, rolling counter shutters in wood, steel and aluminum, sliding wood accordion doors and Richards-Wilcox sliding door hardware. Options vary by product, so contact Tedford with the opening sizes and what the door needs to do, and the team will confirm what fits.

Can a commercial door have a walk-through pass door or a break-away bottom section?

Yes, Clopay offers pass doors and break-away bottom sections on select insulated commercial models.

A pass door is a 32-by-80-inch walk-through door built into the sectional door, useful where there isn't room for a separate entry door; it also saves energy and operator cycles because staff don't have to open the whole door. A break-away bottom section releases from the track and swings up to 45 degrees inward or outward when it's struck, preventing further damage to the door. For manually operated doors, the Safe-T-Stop chain hoist has a built-in brake, so the door only moves while someone is pulling the chain.

Do you work with contractors and new construction projects?

Yes, contractors and new construction are welcome, and Tedford quotes commercial doors for new buildings as well as replacements.

Clopay track can be set up as standard lift, low-headroom front or rear mount, follow-the-roof-pitch or full vertical lift, which helps the door suit the building's headroom and roof line. Share the opening sizes, building use and schedule when you call, and Tedford will arrange the estimate and put the door model, track, springs and operator in a written quote.

Which commercial door openers does Tedford install?

Tedford installs LiftMaster commercial operators, matched to the type of door and how hard it works.

Trolley operators suit standard-lift sectional doors, while hoist and gear-reduced hoist operators are built for rolling doors, grilles and high- or vertical-lift sectional doors, with an emergency chain hoist for manual operation. Each comes in light, medium or industrial duty, and a high-cycle trolley operator suits apartment buildings and other high-traffic, low-profile openings. Photo eyes and sensing edges can be added to suit the door.
